What Is The Remedy For Bronchitis Wth Dry Cough When On Omnocortil?
My 8 months old daughter has been diagonised having bronchiolitis and has severe dry cough.She has been prescribed few antibiotics for fever(mild)--NOVOMAX and Asthalin syrup and TMINIC.Few courses of antibiotic is over but her cough in the night--wheezing has not reduced.Last 2 days before had a cosultation with a pediatric who has suggested Omnocortil for 3 days.But observe her dry cough has not improved much.Though the dosage has been given for 1 day only.currently she has no fever and has difficulty breathing in the night.Day time she is fine and her intake is good and she is active.Just giving her towel bath and have not given head bath for many days since her condition prevailed.
I am really worried abt my daughters condition and the medication given is correct or not.Not sure how long will it take to cure.Is the prescibed medication correct?How long will it take to improve?IS IT ARECURRING CONdition?What are the causes ?Since its the first time she is having such cough.Will mother feeding help build immunity ??Please suggest.

Bronchiolitis in kids is mostly viral and antibiotics are just to prevent superadded bacterial infections.usually bronchiolitis resolves in average 13 days maximum spontaneously.Omnocortil / prednisolone are steroids and they hasten the recovery but i personally dont give it to my patients for it compromises the immune system and recurrences are more with its use.Tminic is antihistamines, Asthalin is bronchodilator and and novomax is a baby growth enhancing medicine.
I suggest .5cc adrenaline diluted with 2cc distilled water nebulization every 6 hours with alternate ventolin nebulization.it works like charm. Where i love every kid gets it in winter and almost all of them resolve.
