I was sick with a mild cold 3 days last week but then this intense coughing started. I'm gasping for air as if I'm being strangled. My chest isn't tight, my throat feels closed. My sides hurt from the intensity, its worse at night, breathing treatments. Haven't helped. I'm confused and lose feeling in my hands as if they're asleep.

Hi,
My kid is 11 months old. He is having cold for the last 5 days. We checked with paediatrician 3 days back. He said it's common cold and it will go away. He advised steam inhalation and gave nasal drops and asked to use if his nose is blocked. From yesterday he started coughing. Is it normal? Is any medication necessary?

why would a person be on the following medications: theophylline 400mg ER, prednisone 5 mg, montelukast 10 mg, anoro ellipta inhaler, ventolin inhaler, and albuterol sulfate 0.083% via nebulizer (all at the same time and used daily)? what is the rationale of placing a patient on all these medications?
