What Does This Blood Result Showing Low Iron Suggest?

Hi, I just received my blood results, because I am always a bit low on iron. Iron is 16 ( 10 - 250?), but also RDW is a bit high - 14.9 (max. 14.5). I take iron daily, is not helping all that much. Should I be pursuing this with my doctor? How? Many thanks.

Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have iron deficiency. You should take iron supplements. If oral iron is not helpful then you should go for injectable iron therapy. Because you may malabsorption. Your RDW is slightly high and its due to iron deficiency. Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
