What Does Extensive Cystic Changes Are Seen Related To The Left Sub Lingual Gland Indicate?
I have been having neck pain for years. Had a MRI last week. Radiologist noted Extensive cystic changes are seen related to the left sublingual gland. These are chronic. He recommends further evaluation with CT of the neck and soft tissue with contrast. What in the world could it be? Is he looking for cancer?

Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Cystic changes are degenerative changes. 2. It can be seen both in chronic inflammation or cancer. FNAC of the cyst can provide diagnosis. 3. CT with contrast will identify any surrounding tissue involvement and also if any lymph nodes are present based on drainage pattern.. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
