Hi im dr.hema physiotherapist.
Good to know that you checked with needed tests.
Yes a good source of food helps to maintain a good heart along with physical activity.
1.Limiting saturated fats and cutting out trans fats is the most important. Both types of fat raise your
LDL ie bad
cholesterol level.
2.
Omega-3 fatty acids may play a part in keeping cholesterol levels low, stabilizing irregular heartbeat (
arrhythmia), and reducing blood pressure.
Choose foods rich in unsaturated fats, fiber, and protein. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, beans, nuts, and seeds are all great cholesterol regulators. The best foods for lowering cholesterol are oatmeal, fish, walnuts (and other nuts), olive oil, yogurt, apple, ,tomatoes and
soy protein......—substances found in plants that help block the absorption of cholesterol. (Omega 3 fatty acid with all other nutrients).
3.Along with diet try to follow a regularised physical activity ie brisk walking for 30 to 40 mins 4 to 5 times a week or any type of moderate activity.
*Then about walnuts, eating just 25 g each day provides about 90% omega-3 fatty acids.
Also walnuts are rich source of many phyto-chemical substances that may contribute to their overall anti-oxidant activity, including
melatonin,
vitamin E, carotenoids, and poly-phenolic compounds. These compounds have potential health effects against cancer, aging, inflammation, and neurological diseases.
Hope the information helps, in doubt do reply.
Wishing you healthy long life.
