What Causes White Spots At Back Of Throat Near Tonsils?

I am 15. 117.2 pounds, 5'8. At the back of my throat, toward my uvula on either side, near my tonsils are 2 big, white spots. They aren't supposed to be there. I've looked at pictures, and asked my boyfriend to check his throat. I'm really freaking out, because I think it may be tonsilitis or strep, but they're big and I can't swallow without pain. I wanted to know if I need to see a doctor, cause it's getting worse.

As per your query you have white spots at back of throat near tonsils. Well there can be many reasons for white spot on the back of the throat like oral thrush , tonsil stones , oral herpes and tonsillitis . It seems to me that in your case the white spots on back of your throat is due to tonsil stones . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out causes mention above . Usually treatment is not necessary, as the tonsils will clean themselves just do warm saline gargles and suck on lemon candy . If they are causing any discomfort then doctor may remove them with instrument .
