hi, my husband has tonsillitis and is taking antibiotics, this morning while we are eating breakfast, he drank some hot coffee and suddenly lose consciousness. When he was okay again, he told me that before fainting and after drinking hot coffee, he became dizzy and his throat hurts? Is this normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to tonsil infection. The hot beverages can trigger the symptoms. I suggest to avoid them while having tonsillitis. Instead, cold beverages are recommended because can lower the inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
