What Causes Swelling And Itching In The Vagina?

I have what feels like a swollen vagina- there is no pain, there is uncomfort and slight itch. I went to the doctors, tested for chlamydia & gonorrhea both were negative. I went again to the doctor to let her know I was feeling itch (not necessarily swelling)- she took a swap sample of the discharge and said everything looked normal. Im mostly concerned because about 4 weeks ago I had unprotected sex with someone who has more partners than I knew of. I am sort of at a loss. I asked about these tiny taste-bud like bumps in between the labia majora crease and the clitoris but she said those are normal....if they're normal why are they so itchy? Help!

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The symptoms that you have are likely to be due to a vaginal infection - can be bacterial or a fungal infection. This needs a swab culture for proper diagnosis.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
