What Causes Red Swollen Tonsils With Fever And Voice Change?

My 5 yr old daughter has had red swollen tonsils, swollen glands x 2 weeks. the strep test 2 weeks ago was negative. She cont to have a low grade fever, sore throat, voice changes at times, along with the swollen, red tonsils and swollen glands. Would this still likely be a virus?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hi,
looks like your daughter has upper respiratory tract infection.
it is usually due to viral infection and hence only symptomatic treatment will suffice.
you can give her tylenol after checking the dose.
she may do well with a course of antibiotics.
regards,
