What Causes Pain And Blood In Stool When Suffering From Ovarian Cyst?

I have a friend who was diagnosed with septic ovarian cyst. She has 10/10 pain by 12 noon despite vicodin. Pain debilitating. Doctor scheduled surgery 11/30/12. She has tried heat/ ice. Nothing helps. What is usual protocol for diagnosis. She also has blood in bowels and becomes diaphoretic when pain sets in

I think that the operation for the cyst may be a cure for the condition, also I would suggest that to start using lactulose syrup for 10 days to avoid constipation which might have lead to rectal bleeding.
