OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

These are weight changes, rapid gain or loss both can affect your periods. Stress affects a part of the brain. Excessive exercise, too much prolactin, like during breast feeding, can stop your periods. Thyroid problem like hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism can stop your periods. Polycystic ovarian disease causes hormonal disturbances and cause missed periods, anorexia, loss of rupture and in-end perimenopause, all can cause missed periods.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunita Kothari, OB & GYN Specialist
