But now it starts and it immediately soaks thru my clothes and I have to get to a bathroom to shower. I can't seem to figure out whats doing it. I feel hot all of the time.

Thanks for contacting with your health concern and since you have attained menopause thus following could be the possibility:

i. PMS [post menopausal symptoms]: hot flushes, irritability, sweating [intense heat starts in your chest and rises to your head and neck] which occurs due to fluctuating or decreasing estrogen level which happens after menstrual cycle stops causing change in the body temperature [so that a small changes in outside temperature cause a rise in body heat], so best way to prevent/manage PMS is

- maintain an ideal body weight, since overweight-obese women have frequent hot flushes.
- Include 'soy' in your diet which helps in reducing hot flushes.
- Since phytoestrogens are weak hormones that are found in many plants, they are readily available in beans, grains, nuts, oils, berries, and vegetables.
- avoid alcohol/ smoking, caffeine, spicy food.
- Perform Yoga/meditation to remain stress-free and promote relaxation.
- H.R.T. [hormonal replacement therapy] is part of preventive medicine in postmenopausal age but since most of the drugs are estrogen derivatives thus should be given only after consulting with an OBG/GYN doctor since these are contraindicated in some gynecological problems

ii. It is important for you to educate yourself regarding:

- Self-breast examination every month. Report if any lump, discharge or skin change.
- yearly P.V. and Pap smear examination.
- report immediately, if P.V. bleeding or discharge after menopause.
