What Causes Chronic Sinusitis And High Fever?

Hi. My son gets chronic sinusitis. He is on omnicef and has had four doses but his temps are still high and I've been doing round the clock ibuprofen piggybacked with tylenol. I thought it would break by now but it is 103.2 again. He is 12 years old.

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

Acute bacterial sinusitis takes 4-5 days to settle as the antibiotics have to penetrate thick mucus. I suggest you not to use both Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. You can treat fever with Paracetamol at 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly if fever is > 100F.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
