What Causes Bloating Of Stomach After Food Intake?

Everytime I eat my stomach blows up. it stays this way. in addition, I am rapidly gaining weight and retaining water. my ankles continue to swell and I some times have swelling of the lips and face. I also have a rash on my back that won't leave. Could a blockage of the food pipe cause this to happen?

Hello,

There are many causes for bloating after food intake most common causes are:

1. Acute Gastritis
2. Food intolerance
3. Irritable bowel syndrome
4. Malabsorption syndrome et cetera

Unless examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and caffeine drinks. Also, avoid dairy products and gluten contains food.

If symptoms not improved, then please consult your doctor so that he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
