Loette is a combination oral contraceptive pill that contains ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel as its active ingredients. This medicine prevents pregnancy and is used to treat acne. Some common side effects of Loette include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Headache
- Breast tenderness and enlargement
- Changes in menstrual flow (e.g. breakthrough bleeding or spotting)
Mood changes
- Weight gain or loss
- Decreased libido
- Vaginal discharge
- Skin rash or hives
- Fluid retention

It is important to note that not all women will experience side effects while taking Loette. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects while taking Loette, you should consult your doctor. Regarding your concern about brown spotting, this can be a common side effect of taking hormonal birth control pills, especially if you have missed a pill or taken one at a different time than usual.

It is generally safe to continue taking the pills as directed and finish the remaining four pills in the pack. However, if the spotting continues or is accompanied by other unusual symptoms, it is best to consult your doctor to rule out any underlying medical conditions or the possibility of pregnancy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Loetta is a combination oral contraceptive pill that contains two hormones, ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel. Like all hormonal contraceptives, it may cause side effects in some women. Some of the most common side effects of Loetta pills are nausea, headache, breast tenderness, mood changes, weight gain, changes in menstrual bleeding patterns (e.g. irregular bleeding, spotting, or absence of periods), decreased libido (sex drive), and skin reactions, such as acne or rash

In rare cases, Loetta may cause more serious side effects, such as blood clots, stroke, heart attack, liver problems, or high blood pressure. These serious side effects are more common in women who smoke, are over 35 years old, or have certain medical conditions.

If you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects while taking Loetta, you should consult your healthcare provider as soon as possible. They can help you decide whether Loetta is the right contraceptive choice for you and may recommend an alternative form of contraception.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shah Hussain, General & Family Physician
