What Are The Side Effects Of Having Implanon Contraceptive?
Hey I was wondering if you could help me?
I'm 18 years old, I weigh about 13.5 stone and I'm roughly 5'7/8. I had the Implanon contraceptive inserted into my arm November 2010, the periods were pretty random to start off for the first month then they settled and I didn't have any periods at all, every couple of months I would spot for like 2 days. But recently I had a period around 2 weeks ago which was quite light and lasted around 5 days, but the cramps that came with it were unbearable. (I never cramp when I have periods so this was a little strange) and then I had another period roughly 4/5 days after, this was like I had been cut open, the blood was red raw, my pants were soaked and when I wiped the tissue was literally covered in blood clots. I do smoke cannabis, could this lower the effect of the Implant working? Could I have fallen pregnant and miscarried without realizing? Or could this just be the Implant messing with my body? Which seems unlikely for me because I went so long and never bled like that ever, even when I didn't have the Implant my periods were always light and short. Would there be any point in going to the Doctors about this, if I had miscarried.... would they be able to tell? Thanks for your time and help!

Side effects of implanon CP are changes in menstruation, breakthrough bleeding, menstrual cramps, weight gain, mood changes, etc. Other medical conditions associated may be ectopic pregnancy, liver disease, vascular disease, leucorrhea, depression, etc. Efficacy can be reduced due to certain medications (antibiotics, antifungals), Addictions(smoking, alcohol, etc), CBD (cananbis). It is possible that you had an abortion, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist. Get all blood tests done. Get USG (uterus) to detect any pregnancy or incomplete abortion(miscarriage).
