Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Weakness, Breathlessness, Panic Attack, Increased Heart Beat, Headache, Cannot Open Eyes. Which Disease Is This?
which disease is characterised by the following: 1. weakness- like paralysis can not hold anything or lift yourself up--just unconscious 2. shortness of breath 3. attack like that takes few minutes- attack once in a while 4.faster heart beat 5. terrible headache then follows thereafter 6. you can not open your eyes 7. tears fill you
The symptoms described are most likely seen during a panic attack. Other possibility which needs to be ruled out is a cardiac arrhythmia. Atypical seizure is a third unlikely possibility.
The symptoms are non specific and a clear systemic medical condition cannot be suggested without evaluation. To me it looks more like a panic attack; however a detailed clinical examination to rule out cardiac arrhythmia and atypical seizure is warranted. Evaluation to establish a diagnosis for this patient would include routine blood test, thyroid profile, ECG / 2D echo for the heart and a preliminary CT scan of the brain would be essential.
Hope this answers your query.
