VRDL Test Positive. TPHA Result Yet To Come. Have Sex Only With Wife. Problem? Suggestions?

i had a test for VDRL and it was positive, & now I did TPHA result has not come yet. i never had sex with any one in my life accept my wife . then also why the VDRL report come in positive?
soo now TPHA will also be positive or negative ??? what to do about it ? is it something worrying or serious.

Thanks for your query.
VDRL is a test to determine whether you have active syphilis infection..
There may be about 1-2% of false positives in the VDRL report..This may be seen in tuberculosis,,or any bacterial infections...it is not 100% sensitive..
Go for FTA-ABs or TPHA..it will be more sensitive than the above said VDRL..
If it also comes positive then it may transmitted to you from your wife..
Consult general physician for more suggestions

carried out VDRL test which is reported to be positive.
Since you do not have sex with anyone except your wife you need not worry at all.
Many a times VDRL tets are reported to be false positive and so TPHA test is carried out to confirm the same. TPHA test is highly sensitive and qualitative.test for syphilis.
Please rest assured it is going to be negative in your case.
