Tiredness, Lethargy. Epstein Bar Came Positive. Meaning?

Hi, I am 73 years old, for the last 10 months I wake up very tired, lethargic, I stay laying in bed for an additional hours until I feel the energy to make a cup of tea. My doctor did a lab test for epstein bar, it came positive, but when I checked the symptoms of this virus on Web MD, none of them apply to me. I am very puzzled.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Epstein virus is a virus which causes a number of diseases.
It can cause infectious as well as neoplastic disorders.
Among the infectious diseases, most common is infectious mononucleosis.
However, infectious mononucleosis usually affects young adults. It is characterized by sore throat, fever, enlarged lymph nodes of the neck, and increase in blood lymphocytes.
Among the neoplastic lesions common ones are -Hodgkin lymphoma (neoplastic lesion of the lymph nodes), naso-pharyngeal carcinoma, gastric carcinomas to name a few.
Are you experiencing symptoms pertaining to any of these sites?
If yes, you can consult your physician for clinical examination.
However, self limiting infectious lesions are more commonly caused by Epstein Barr virus.
Anti-viral treatment is effective against most of them.
