What is Infectious mononucleosis?

Infectious mononucleosis also called as kissing disease or glandular fever is a viral infection caused by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). The characteristic symptoms of this infection are fever, fatigue, malaise, and sore throat. It causes increase in the lymphocyte count and atypical lymphocytes are specific to this disease.
