Suggest Treatment For Swollen Tonsils

Hi my 27month old daughter has very swollen tonsils along with being red and a constant runny nose they have been swollen for a year at least. She had lots of ear infections when she was little and they would always check her for strep because her tonsils were so swollen it was always negative. I am just wondering what could be causing this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to tonsillitis.

For that, you may require antibiotics after physician consultation.

Along with that do steam inhalation and Betadine gargle.

Take hygienic food and water.

Keep your self hydrated. Maintain proper hygiene.

For pain, you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
