Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

I think you just have a very extensive yeast infection of your vagina and the surrounding skin. Yeast infections of the skin make it bright red and very itchy, sometimes with scaly dry skin at the borders. In addition, the white chunks in your discharge are very typical for a yeast infection.

Treatments for vaginal yeast infections are available over the counter, but yours is so severe if over-the-counter medicaions do not work, then I suggest you see a doctor for prescription treatment. You should purchase a cream designed to treat yeast infections (the medicine should have the term -azole at the end... like miconazole, clotrimazole, terconazole) that is designed to be a 7-day treatment. Buy 2 tubes of the seven day cream. Apply one tube in the vagina using applicators before you go to bed at night and use the second tube of cream to put on the itchy red dry skin on the outside. The cream may burn when you first apply it but that shows it is working... so try to get through the first day and the burning will get better. There are also pills you can take for a yeast infection, but they require a doctors' prescription.

If you don't feel comfortable treating it yourself, a yeast infection is common in women and has nothing to do with sex or sexual activity. You should probably tell your mom if the cream does not work for you so you can go to the doctor and get the prescription pill.

It will take at least 7 days for the redness and itching to completely go away. If it does sooner, make sure you finish all the cream as the infection can come back.

I hope I was able to assist you today and that my answer was helpful.

Best wishes, and i hope you feel better,

Dr. Brown
