Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Headache

I have had a sore throat for 4-5 days and it isn't getting any better. I also have headaches and feel swimmy( like I'm not with it) . I have been taking pain killers which help for a couple of Hours. Should I see my gp. I don't want to waste their time if its just a sore throat that will pass.

I have gone through your query regarding sore throat and headache for about 4 to 5 days. Thogh you are taking pain killers but they are not helping much and gives only relief for couple of hours.

As per your symptoms it appears you are having sore throat , and most of the time it is viral but sometimes bacterial also. Usually it gets cured by itself in a weeks time but if it prolongs or further developments takes place in the form of severe pain in throat, fever and difficulty in swallowing than ENT consultation becomes essential.

At present you may take-

1- Warm saline gargling.

2- Tab paracetamol.

3- Antacid with PPI.

4- Adequate fluid orally.

I hope above will help you otherwise consultation with ENT doctor will become necessary.
