Suggest Treatment For Mastocytosis And Large Liver

I have been told I have mastocystosis including a moderatley large liver and large spleen. I am male, 66 years old and anemic. I have no history of alohol abuse. I would like an honest opinion of my chances to see another year. Are there any treatments? I have gone thru a series of 10 iron infusions. About 1 year ago I weighed 220 lbs and now weigh about 180 Lbs. I am 5 10 tall. Gary

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Instead of talking about you passing away from your condition, I would like to shift your attention to treatments that may not have yet tried in your case. One of them is Midostaurin. Has your doctor ever spoke with you about this new medication? If not, please ask your doctor. I hope you get all the help that is possible to provide to you.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Alexander Davis, General & Family Physician
