Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection After Undergoing Adenoidectomy

Hello Dr. Sumit, My 5 yr old son s Adenoids grew back and his tubes fell out. Now the ears are both full of fluid again and he just got his first ear infection since the surgery. would you recommend going through the whole procedure again? Thanks in advance, Reagan

HI.The commonest reason for Otitis Media after adenoidectomy is damage to the Eustachian tubes. NO need to undergo all the same procedure again. Keep the patient on a long course of antibiotics , anti-inflammatory and antihistamine medicines along with nasal decongestant drops and if required a course of oral steroid in tapering dosages.
