Suggest Treatment For Anal Bleeding And Blood In Stools
My son has had bright red blood in his feces and anus the last two times he's had bowel movements (twice in 48 hours). This morning he had a bloody nose (he had a cold). I know he needs to see a doctor and have called several to make appointments as soon as possible. Or should we go to the emergency room?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your son and understood your concerns. Passage of bright red blood in stool as well as bloody nose with two bowel movements indicate an emergency hence needs to be seen asap at the ER that is Emergency Room. Better not wait. Also watch for the blood pressure and development of any other symptoms, red spots on skin, malena that is black stools, urine color so that this will assist you in better diagnosis. Also get the blood tests: CBC, bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time, serum calcium and electrolytes, liver and other functions. Per-rectal digital examination, ano-proctoscopy and so on. Instill Xylometazoline decongestant nasal drops do ice fomentation for nose and put in ice-cube in mouth near hard palate. Ask your son to relax and get the blood pressure checked.
