Suggest Treatment And Diet For Cholestrol

Dear sir

Please suggest medicine and food related instructions before i will explain my health background, i had been operated by pass surgery four year back , recently i had been checked my health on 17/10/2011, the following reading as registered in Lipid Profile

1.Total Cholesterol is 132 mg/dl

2.LDL Cholesterol is 66 mg/dl

3.HDL Cholesterol is 16 mg/dl

4.Triglycerides is 248 mg/dl

5.CHOL/HDL Ratio is 8.2

6.Serum Creatinine 1.0mg/dl

7.Blood Sugar-Fasting is 96 mg/dl

8. Post Prandial Blood Sugar is 301 mg/dl

hello,
I have gone through your query .Thanks for using HCM.
Your reports are by and large satisfactory.As you have undergone bypass your LDL should remain below 70 and cholseterol should remain below 150.which is already there.Your HDL of 16 is very very low.It must be kept above 35 as it is protective cholesterol.
For this you must eat almonds,pista and walnuts.This will raise your HDL.There is medicine called Nicotinic acid which is known to raise HDL.You may take this butvarious trials have not shown distinct benefit apart from lowering number.You must continue your statin group of medicines.
Your post prandial sugar is very high.You must modify your medication or insulin in consultation with your treating doctor.
