Suggest Remedy For Lumps In Ear

I have a large lump in front of my right ear and my glands are swollen on my neck (I believe they are my lymph nodes). The lymph nodes are sore in my neck and my jaw is a bit sore, but other than that I have no illness. I'm not sure if I should see a doctor. I know they say that when your lymph nodes are swollen it is a sign of infection, but I have had no fever and no sickness. What could this be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

The large lump in front of your ear could be due to parotid gland swelling, and with the presence of lymph nodes in the neck and a sore jaw, it is more likely to be a malignant growth of the parotid.

I would strongly recommend that you show it to a surgeon for a clinical evaluation and get needle biopsy of the parotid and the lymph nodes to help reach a diagnosis. As further management will depend upon these evaluations.

Hope i have been helpful.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Verma
