Hello,
Itchy rashes on the head or scalp with watery pus like liquid oozing out is commonly due to the infection of the hair shafts (
folliculitis) or skin (
impetigo). It is due to poor hygiene and warm temperatures. Maintain good hygiene, take bath 2-3 times a day. Wear cotton clothes. Do not share your toiletries, gently wash the sores with soap and water each day and then wash your hands thoroughly. Avoid red meat, take yogurts, cucumber, fruits and plenty of water.
Stay in air condition, avoid staying in warm temperatures. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. You can wash your hair with
ketoconazole or zinc pyrithione shampoo. keel hair clean and scalp oiled with coconut or almond oil. Apply locally ointment
Bactroban to the area affected for relieve. Take a course of Doxycycline-100 mg. Take antihistamines,
fexofenadine (Allegra) once daily for 3-5 days. It should go away, If it is resistant you should get STD tests done, to rule out shingles etc. This is to stay on the safer side.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
