If your typhoid has not been completely cured, then you must rest well and eat only home cooked food. Since typhoid occurs due to bacteria Salmonella typhi contaminating food and water, you must avoid eating out as you cannot check the hygiene standards maintained by people cooking in restaurants, fast food joints, local eateries etc. If your symptoms like diarrhoea, fever have subsided, you can begin with liquid diet such as fruit juices with added sugar, glucose water, coconut water, buttermilk etc. Make sure it is prepared in a hygienic manner at home.
Drink only boiled and cooled water/filtered water. Avoid water/fluids whose source is not known.
If you want you can have packaged/tetrapacked juices, buttermilk but check them for expiry.

Once you can tolerate a liquid diet, you can begin with semi solid foods like khichri, dal and rice cooked well, semolina pudding, soups both (vegetable and non veg), sago or sabudana khichri or pudding etc.

Avoid milk till fever has subsided and during diarrhoea. You can include cottage cheese (paneer) but include milk/curd and buttermilk only when fever has subsided.

Diet during convalescence includes high energy and high protein foods. Include low fibre starchy grains like rice, sago, arrowroot flour, soyflour, semolina or suji (hindi), vermicelli, pasta, macaroni as upma, pudding or desserts. Avoid harsh fibre fruits and vegetables. Include potatoes, bananas and custard apples. If non-vegetarian, avoid under cooked meats, you can have boiled eggs, fish, chicken and lean meats. Prefer less oil curries or roasted and grilled meats, but avoid spices, too much butter, ghee and oil as fats are difficult to digest and a weak intestine must not be taxed by including foods which are harsh, spicy and fat rich.

Maintain good personal and food hygiene as typhoid sufferers become a carrier of the disease for a substantial period. Wash hands with a good soap before cooking, eating and after using the toilet.

Hope this will answer your query and clear most of your doubts.
