Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic

As the patient is actually ill and anorexia, a high calorie , high protein, full fluid diet is given generally in the beginning. Small meals at frequent intervals of 2-3 hours with sufficient intake of fluid and salts to be ensured. When fever comes down, a well cooked, bland, low fiber, soft diet which is easily absorbed can be given.
Foods which are avoided are high fiber foods, whole wheat , whole pulses, all raw and strongly flavoured vegetables like cabbage, capsicum , turnip, radish, onion and garlic, fried foods, strong flavoured condiments , spices, red meats and organ meats.
Foods which are allowed are plenty of juices, low fat broth soups, and plain water, milk and milk based beverages, low fiber foods like refined cereals, well cooked vegetables & fruits, eggs in form of soft custards, plain gelatin, sugars, honey and jam.

Diet in typhoid fever should be less oily, fatty and spicy foods. this is becuse these types of food can worsen acidity and cause ulcers. take more water and fresh fruit juices

Soft diet is adisable.  Low Fat, bioled food, soups, juices, boiled water etc. etc.  Take proper medicines with lot of water.  Coconut water is good for early recovery.  Proper rest is also advisable.

Hello Doctor, my son who is 8 years has been detected with typhoid on Monday ie. 07/03/11. Since then he has been on medication (Secef and Azithral twice a day), but his fever is not going down from 102 or 103 or 104. Please suggest how may days it should normally take to get the fever down. Should we get some other checkups done.

I am making smoothies due to dental work where teeth are being removed temporarily.
And I am finding this working with a blender. And using vegetables of all kinds, as well as fruits for smoothies. Hummus basic is also taken in spoon fools for protein.

I just got one of my upper wisdom teeth removed. There is a brownish/reddish liquid that is mixed with my saliva. There is no pain or excessive swelling. It has been a period of one day. I have been following the wash procedures (salt water) and maintaining a liquid/soft diet. As well as brushing. Is there any need for a concern?

Ive had diarrhea for 4+ days now. Just recently it turned to water with lotsof cramping. I had a molar pulled 6 days ago. Was given keflex 6 days before the procedure and for 3 days after. I m notsure if it is a combination of the antibiotic and the soft diet I m on. Last night I ate solid forthwith 1st time seemed to make it worse I had meatloaf w/mashed potatoes and margerine. The days before I drank chocolate milk and apple sauce along with passion fruit juiceand chicken broth and chocolate pudding all on the dentist advice.
