Subtotal Hysterectomy Due. Will It Seal The Cervix Stopping Any Fluid Passage Through Vagina?

I'm due to have a subtotal hysterectomy soon and am told that the top of my cervix will 'seal' afterwards not allowing any blood or other fluid to pass through the vagina is this correct? What will happen when ovulate and will this still pass through my F tubes into the vagina as it does now? Also....can a subtotal Hysterectomy cause my ovaries to go onto premature menopause. I'm 49 and have a lot of fibroids which is the reason for the surgery. Appreciate your help... :-) Cass

Hi, the sub total hysterectomy means, removal of the uterus, and falopian tubes, leaving the ovaries, to secrete estrogen, so there wont be any pre mature menopause, and there will be no periods, as there is no uterus, to have regular harmonal chchanges, and discharge. To prevent any discharge from the part of cervix they might be closing the cervix. Ovum wont be released, or not transfered to the vagina. Thank you.
