Red Bumps On Back Of Throat, Jaw Pain. Throat Cancer?
I have had red bumps on the back of my throat for about 2 months. I have jaw pain. I also have been dipping for about a year. I am worried that it could be throat cancer. I have been to the doctors several times treating me for tonsilitis, strep, and now allergies they said it was a nasal drip cause the tonsils to become inflamed and bumps on the back of my throat.
I am Dr Sriram Nathan an ENT surgeon and i will try to help you out with your problem.
The red bumps which you have described can be any of the many benign and normal structures which are present in the oral cavity and the throat.
In any case these swellings may become red or increased in size in any infection or irritation so you have nothing to worry about.
Since you have already taken a course of tablets for infections I would suggest you to take a course of anti reflux tablet such as pantoprazole and then see the change.
If the bump persists then you may take an upper GI endoscopy and get back to me with the reports
take care and get well soon

Dr Sriram Nathan
