Endoscopy

What is Endoscopy?

Endoscopy means looking inside and typically refers to looking inside the body for medical reasons using an endoscope, an instrument used to examine the interior of a hollow organ or cavity of the body. Unlike most other medical imaging devices, endoscopes are inserted directly into the organ.

There are many different types of endoscope, and depending on the site in the body and the type of procedure, endoscopy may be performed by a doctor or a surgeon, and the patient may be fully conscious or under general anaesthetic. Endoscope can also refer to using a borescope in technical situations where direct line of-sight observation is not feasible.

Hi, My daughter age 1.5 Year suffering from Vomiting since last 13-14 days. All test including blood, urine Sonography , Berium Meal & swallow comes normal. As per Pediatrician it is due to Gastroentitist. She also found to be anemic (heamoglobin only 9.5) because of which she became very weak. She is vomiting early morning or after some time of having food. She vomit some time yellow in color. * Can you suggest if I have to go for Endoscopy for such small child ? If yes, where in Mumbai? * How much time it will take to cure this because as per doctor it will take few weeks. If it takes so much time then I am worried because she will be very weaker. Kindly suggest very urgently !! Thanks,

doctor1 MD

If ur child has only vomitting and no diarrhea, then its not gastroenteritis...if his barium swallow is normal then its probably diet induced but its always better to consult a gastroenterologist because it could be some structural anomaly also,so it's. better to go for a specialist...

I feel you are having an 3rd or 4 th degree piles and an fistula. In general, the symptoms of external hemorrhoids are different than the symptoms of internal hemorrhoids.
External hemorrhoids can cause problems, however, when blood clots inside them. This is referred to as thrombosis. Thrombosis...

I have stomach pain in the upper part. I had a heavy feeling initially about two years back , now i can feel the pain very often. I have done two times endoscopy , 2 normal scans one normal x-ray and even one MRI scanning . results are normal. BUt i still feel the pain . I now for sure its not a gas problem . I have a feeling that it might be a ulcer or stomach cancer . PLease suggest me a cheap and best hospital where i can undergo stomach cancer diagnosis

doctor1 MD

Hi

Welcome To HelathcareMagic forum.

Since you have already done few tests in which endoscopy is one among them, it is good enough to diagnose an ulcer or cancerous changes, a biopsy would be generally done when they do endoscopy.

I would suggest an ECG also, if not done get it done

for a good...

I am 25 Years old I have BPH, i diagnosed myself with it after doing many procedures such as cystoscopy and abdominal ultrasound, urine analysis, urine culture, etc. and they were all negative. Doctors could not determine why i have difficulty in urinating and that i go frequently to the bathroom to urinate a small amount of urine. so after reading many essays online about Over Masturbation, it appears that this is what caused my Prostate to enlarge. but i could bear the side effects of the Alpha Blockers, such as nasal blocking and Postural Hypo tension and i did a colonoscopy today so the urine flow got even worse and its much harder to urinate. I don t know what to do, some say that the surgical solution will cause infertility. I have heard about other solution such as Holmium laser. So please tell me what to do ?

doctor1 MD

Hi well come to Hcm.
BPH is very rare at this age so instead of comming to self conclusion let urologist
decide it.Masturbation has nothing to do with it.You have not mentioned wheather
urethral stricture is ruled out or not. Thanks

Hi,

Is the bleeding over the tip of the nose? If so, please use Neosporin ointment instead of soframycin. If the bleeding is from deep inside, please get a nasal endoscopy done. It is not a painful procedure, it helps in identifying the bleeder and which can be medically cauterized in OPD if it...

Hello, for years now I have nausea during and after eating and a lot of times when I m not eating. I wake up with bad indigestion every day and suffer all day with it whether I eat or not. A lot of times it feels like something is stuck. I ve had my gallbladder checked and it functions properly. I was told I do have a fatty liver. I ve lost about 15 pounds since November without trying because of the nausea and not being able to finish eating. Could it be possible that I have a food allergy even though I don t have to eat to feel bad? I also have bloody stools and lately loose bowels almost not making it to the bathroom. I ve had 2 colonoscopies with normal results. I could go on but I think this is enough to start with.

I have a translanted kidney in my lower abdomen. I had an ultrasound recently where they found mild pelvicaliectasis. They also found a 3mm x 3mm polyp in my gall baldder. I see a surgeon next week to discuss options regarding the polyp, and I'll discuss the pelvicaliectasis with my nephrologist at the next visit. But, in an efort to learn a little more about these issues now, are either of these things I need to worry about?
