Pain During Intercourse. Finished Menopause, Suggested Miralax. Should I Take A Sonogram?

I AM EXPERIENCING PAIN WHILE HAVING INTERCOURSE. i AM 52 AND BELIEVE I FINISHED MY MENOPAUSE...I HAVE NOT HAD MY CYCLE IN 7 MO. I WENT TO MY GYNOCOLOGIST SHE TOLD ME IT WAS BLOCKAGE PAIN. SHE TOLD ME TAKE MIRALAX. UNFORTUNATELY, IT WILL WORK FOR AWILE, BUT THE PAIN RETURNS. DO YOU THINK SHOULD HAVE A SONOGRAM TO SEE IF IT NOT SOMETHING ELSE

Thanks for writing to HCM

Pain in your age is generally due to dryness of vagina.You can apply estrogen cream locally.
Among Other reasons are cervicitis, problems in uterus and ovary,PID etc.
So, ultrasound should be done in your case to exclude other pathology.
