No Periods For 6 Months. Had Thyroid Cancer Twice And Thyroidectomy Done. Bloated. Ovary Removed. Suggestions?

Hello, I'm a 44 year old woman and have not had a period in 6 months. I eat very clean and exercise. Have had thyroid cancer twice in the past and a thyroidectomy. In the last couple weeks I had noticed discomfort where I thought I was possibly going to start my period but nothing has happened. I am having extreme bloating as if I'm several months pregnant. Not pregnant. Had an ovary removed several years ago due to cysts. The extreme bloating is my main concern. any thoughts?

hi.. you have not get periods from the past 6 months and you got your ovaries removed.. ovaries are needed for the production of oesterogen and progesterone to bring about the cyclical changes in the endometrium and shedding, leads to menstruation.. small amount is also produced by the liver by conversion of testosterone to esterogen.. but this is insufficient to cause the regular menstrual bleeding.. probably you have attained menopause.. continue the healthy life style and regular exercise.. see your gynaecologist for HRT if it is needed.. all the very best..
