My Friend Has Tonsillitis And Had Oral Sex With A Male. Is There A Possibility That She Has Passed It On To That Male?

Hi there, I have a question for my friend. She has just recently discovered that she has tonsillitis, but proceeded to engage in oral sex with a male knowing she has this infection, thinking it was not contagious. Can you confirm with me if tonsillitis is in fact contagious and if there is a possibility that she has passed it on to this boy that she engaged in sexual contact with.

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
There are chances of transmitting the infection from one person to another. So It is better to take precautions than attempting all these. Nothing to be panic, wait for the symptoms to arise, once the diagnosis is confirmed, we can treat accordingly with a course of antibiotics.
I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
