Is Teething In Child Associated With Cold Like Symptoms?

Almost 7 month old infant has one watery eye, nasal congestion, and is currently teething. She already has 2 lower bottom teeth and yesterday her top left tooth erupted. The tooth beside the middle front teeth. (she doesn't have front top teeth yet) she coughs at times but I think it's from the drainage when age tries breathing through her nose. She has ran a low grade fever, nothing over 100.0 so I have been giving her Tylenol and motrin. Mainly to help with the pain of teething. Is it true teething can bring on cold like symptoms?? Not sure about the watery eyes.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. I just read through your question. Teething can sometimes bring on cold symptoms and low grade fever, like you describe. Treating with tylenol and motrin when she is uncomfortable is perfectly fine. However, if the symptoms last beyond 2-3 days, I always like to have the baby checked out. It's still most likely teething, but it's good to be examined just to be on the safe side.
