Is Dark Bleeding The Side Effects Of Microgestin?

I am on microgestin birth control. I've just about finished the pack. I have one brown pill left to take. Usually my period comes on about the 3rd day on the brown pill. I had some dark bleeding but wanted to know is this normal?? I haven't had a period yet and I only have one brown pill left.

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

You should keep continue with you cycle. Brown bleeding is normal, it just indicates old blood. Sometime periods gets delay due to hormonal imbalance if it doesn’t comes after 2 weeks, have a pregnancy test to be just sure.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Richa Agarwal, OBGYN
