Hello.

Your mother has been prescribed Evion i.e. vitamin E and Gabapentin both of which are known to reduce muscle cramps. The dosages which she is currently getting are also correct. The dosage of Gabapentin may be increased to 900-1800mg per day slowly if she does not get relief with the current dosage.

It is also important to know the cause of the muscle cramps to treat them adequately. Some common causes are dehydration, calcium and magnesium deficiency, kidney problems or anemia. They can be ruled out by blood tests for the same.

Hope this helps. Wishing her good health.

Regards,
Dr Geeta
