Irregular Period For Months. On Cycloreg. Can I Take Femilon If Planning Pregnancy?
Hi i have a problem regarding irregular menses, I have a child of 3 yrs, my age is 28 yrs. My periods have been irregular since last 6-7 months, I consulted a doctor he prescribed Cycloreg and I got my periods after 14 days but again my cycle has been late which was supposed to have started on June 24th. Is it safe to take Femilon as I we are also planning our second baby..
If you are planning for a pregnancy then it is not advisable to use femilon. I suggest that you first get evaluated for the cause of irregular periods. Sometimes hormonal imbalances and ovarian cysts as well as a condition called polycystic ovaries cause irregular periods. So get tested for these. An ultrasound and blood tests on day 2 of periods will help rule these out. Problems with ovulation also lead to irregular periods so just get an ovulation study done.
With these, if a cause is found, treating it will help regularize the period as well as help in getting pregnant.
Best of luck. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for using HCM. Feel free for any further queries. Dr Madhuri Bagde
