What Could Cause Menstrual Irregularity?

what are the main causes of irregular periods ?I am a 25 year old girl and i am not married but i have this problem of irregular periods since 10 months that during my 7 day cycle i bleed for only 1 day and the rest of the days its not the normal blood its just of dark brown or light brown in color .In my first 2 days and last 2 days of cycle i didnt even use my sanitary napkin i m really worried my blood report is also normal and my doctor said it is not a problem my weight increases 5 kg and i have this severe leg and thigh pain before and after my periods what is the cure for that please let me know....

Hi,

Weight gain with scanty periods suggests low thyroid hormone or PCOD as a cause. Hormonal estimation with USG scan of pelvic region would help in differentiation. Consult a gynecologist for more personal examination and advice.
