I Have Lots Of White Mucus In My Throat, Swallowed A Piece Of Gum 6 Months Ago
I swallowed a pice of gum 6 months ago. It feels like its stille there, and i get ill a lot. I seem to get problems with the space between my throat, nose and mouth. I get a lot of white mucus that i cant seem to get rid of, and it irritates my breathing by cloging my airways. The feeling in my throat is like something is moving around up and down, but only on the left side. It also only seems to be on the left side i get a sore throat , and infection like symtons. i can sort of palpate my self, if get my throat relaxed by lying on my bed, with my head downward over the edge of the bed. When i press on the left side of my throat, i feels like i can move an objekt up to the top of my throat, and better get rid of mucus, though its still hard to do. What should i do? I have been to the doctors, but have not had any thorrough eksam.

Welcome back
After consulting your ENT specialist you need to start on proton pump inhibitors (such as omeprazole, pantoperazole) along with a prokinetic. You try these medicines for about 2-3 weeks, you will definitely find some relief. If you are not feeling better even with these medicines then you need to get an endoscopy done.

You seem to be depressed with the complexity of the problems you are facing. If you believe in what I advice, I would rather suggest you to relax in the first instance. With the every bit of stress you undergo the problems get worsened. Just because of your stress the acidity increases leading to the tightness in the throat.
What does the endoscopy report mention?
Gaestroenterologist will not do a biopsy unless it is indicated, so do not worry about that. Regarding other problems in the throat the sensation of the sticky mucous in the throat is because of the inflammation in the throat giving you the false sense of presence of mucous. That is why you are not able to bring it out.
About your breathing difficulty, you need to consult a good chest physician/ a pulmonologist for a complete check up.
Please keep me informed, do not get depressed, do some relaxation exercises and drink plenty of warm water. Any more doubts you are welcome.

Please do not finger your throat, it can cause damage to the mucosa of the throat. First of all, you seem to be having laryngopharyngeal reflux. This is a condition secondary to the acid reflux in the throat. This causes mild irritation with mucus production and a foreign body sensation in the throat. The swallowed gum cannot stay in your throat for this long, so do not worry about that. Drink plenty of warm water, avoid coffee, tea, smoking and alcohol for few days. If the problem persists please contact your ENT specialist.
