I had taken MTpill under doctor's consultation and observation on 26th Jan 2014 (1st dose & 2nd dose on 28th). There was 5 weeks pregnancy. After taking 2nd dose there was heavy bleeding for about 3 days. Thereafter there was moderate bleeding upto 4 days than it stopped. But again after two day mild bleeding started which continues till, as on date its been 15-16 days after taking medicine. I had consulted with my doctor but she said its normal. Just to have peace of mind and confirmation that the abortion is complete I am raising this query. Kindly let me know that what should be done to stop the bleeding if it continues and is that abortion is complete.
Hello dear Understand your concern Bleeding 5-16 days after taking medicine is not normal. Normally bleeding will stop in 7 days. Bleeding continue means abortion is not complete. There may be chance of incomplete abortion/retain product, infections or ectopic pregnancy. I advised you to consult the best gynecologist and undergo USG/Blood HCG scan to confirm retain product/incomplete abortion. Incomplete abortion is treated by misoprostol or by surgical process like D & C. Infections required antibiotics. Maintain pelvic hygiene, healthy diet with iron supplements. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
