How Can Cuts In The Back Of The Throat Be Cured?

With a remote control in my mouth I cut the back of my throat. Now there are two white cuts about the size of a dime in the back of my throat, causing me to swallow alot, and the pain when I eat is intense. I have gargled salt water, but this doesn t seem to be helping, after the third day. Is there anything I can do? Is this going to go away?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be suggestive of a local infection, due to the trauma. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician fora physical exam and some tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR) for infection. In the meantime, I would recommend using baking soda for gargle.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
