General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, it must be the LAD artery of the heart as it is the most important artery and it is extremely difficult to try and stent a 99% blockage. It is also likely that the blockage would be in the distal part of the artery making it not amenable to Stenting or Angioplasty. In these scenarios Open heart surgery would be the only option Im afraid.
I would advice you to get it done if he has chest pain or breathlessnes on exertion as he could land up with a heart attack if he already has not.
