High BP. On Metoprolol And Lisinopril. Is Something Wrong With The Treatment?

My doctor prescribed for me today for high B P Aldacctone. I did not pick it up. I am already taking metoprol 25mg.,
HCTZ, lisinopril. Dr changed Metoprol to 50mg about a week ago. It changed nothing. B.P. at levels between
190/95-----optomitrist 169/111. I had a brother died from a stroke because they could do nothing about his B P.
I am 84 years old and live alone. My heart doctor did not return my call for he last to days. I am considering considering changing doctors.
Had eye exam and that is the reason for his checking. He said, "Get something done about your B.P.

Hi.Thanks for writing us on HCM.
Your have stage 2 hypertension(BP >160 sytolic).Blood pressure has to be adequately controlled to avoid the events like stroke, heart attack etc.If your BP is not controlled by 2 drugs then triple drug combination will help.Addition of aldactone(a diuretic spirinolactone) will reduce/achieve target BP and keeps an adequate check.Start using aldactone as prescribed by your doctor along with other anti hypertensive medication.Hope this helps.Take care.
