Heavy Bleeding, Done Ultrasound. Can I Ask Doctor Online?

Hi.. my mother(42 yr) was having very heavy bleeding from past cycles in 1 n 1/2 yrs so she went to see a local doc, she had her ultrasound done and the reports showed bulky uterus ( 9.4 x 5.8 x 6.3 cm) with thick endometrium (19mm) and NO evidence of mass or diverticulum, she even has low hemoglobin (7.2g/dl), today she had her DNC done, and local doc says to have the uterus removed. so i wanted to hav ur opinion on uterus removal. and also wanted to knw about any post removal difficulties..

Hello
thank you for your query.
Your mother is suffering from menorrhagia ( excessive and heavy menstrual bleeding ).
Her endometrium is definitely thickened.
Whether the uterus requires removal depends on one factor - the histopathology or biopsy report of her D an C.
if the report shows a pre malignant or a troublesome condition, then hysterectomy is justified, otherwised based on current situation so far, it is not advisable.
Please follow up with me with the biopsy report.
take care
