Have delay in periods. Have only staining. Pregnancy test shows negative. Is this pregnancy?

Hi, my period was due 2 day on 26th april but all I have got since yesterday is the slighest yellowish staining when I wipe, wouldn't even notice if you didn't look closely and on checking my cervix there is the slightest darker yellow staining/very very light brown but if I do this on the next visit to the toilet its gone. A pregnancy test shows negative, any advice please.

Thank you for your query.
If the pregnancy test is negative, chances are you are not pregnant , or in your case, you took the test slightly early.
Other causes also could result in this abnormal spotting.
Anxiety, stress, hectic travelling, rapid and recent fluctuations in weight, job stress, ingestion of hormonal medication, recent illness, fever or surgery - all could cause abnormal bleeding.
Thyroid hormone or adrenal hormone dysfunction, raised prolactin level, polycystic ovaries, endometrial disease - all these also could be reasons.
You need to visit a gynecologist to confirm the exact reason for the occurrence.
Please have protected sex in the future.
Take care.
