Hi, I have a small mead size lump under my right armpit since last 5 years of same size.I was not experining any pain any change is size, place or color on it.but last one week i felt little pain on it as well on the surrounding areas of armpit. I noticed the color of that lump changed to dark and today it has changed to red.also feeling little pain on it .There is no change in size. Please suggest what could be the reason.I am worried about this.I am 35 year female.
Hello and thanks for the query
The lump is start paining, increases in size or color needs a medical attention and treated as soon as possible. Mostly under armpit the lump are due to enlarged lymph nodes that has been caused by infection either bacterial or viral. Other causes may be malignancy, cyst or tissue collection.
You need to get examined by your doctor and some investigations like FNAC may help you to get to a diagnosis. A course of antibiotic will help you if this is due to the infection. Else treatment depends on the cause.
Best Wishes
